A little about me…

With 14 years and counting of experience in counseling, my passions in this field are evolving as my life evolves. The majority of my career has been with individuals with trauma histories and/or in crisis. Then, just over 6 years ago, I experienced my own trauma and crisis in a way that shook me to my core - trauma while delivering my daughter. Then, 4 years later, pregnancy loss. When it comes to trauma recovery, this is what I now know in a very personal way - your support system is everything. You can survive things you thought might kill you. And you can be happy again.

Therapy isn’t one size fits all. But finding a therapist who isn’t afraid to be human with you is a great place to start. Next, find someone with experience - lived and educationally. I am proud to say I have both, and also quick to say there’s so much more for me to learn!

I am EMDR certified, which means I have completed additional consultation and education above basic EMDR training, and completed over 100 hours of EMDR work with clients. Talk therapy for trauma processing can and does help, but I believe EMDR works because it takes processing to a deeper level. I have training and experience in CBT, DBT, Solution Focused Therapy, and many other modalities and I will work with you to find what works best for you. At the core of good therapeutic work, however, is the relationship you have with your therapist. I am a good counselor because I am genuine, authentic, and I try to make counseling fun and engaging.
